This article will guide you through creating templates to be used within your firm as required - useful for contacting people involved in your case, or writing to institutions to obtain balances of assets
How do I create a template?
- Navigate to the top right, click on your name and select Manage templates
- Within the Template Library click + Add template
- There are two ways to create a template:
- Upload or drag and drop your Word template
- Continue without document
Uploading a template
- Upload (or drag and drop your template)
- Then click Create from document
- You will then be able to edit your template, and edit placeholders as needed by selecting from the list available
Creating your own template
- Click Continue without document
- You can then create your template and add placeholders as needed by selecting from the list available
How do I insert Placeholders?

- Position your curser on your document where you want the placeholder to go
- Within Placeholder directory search for the placeholder using the search box for the placeholder you need eg. "deceased"
- Click to Insert: Simply click on the + sign to insert the placeholder in your template
For the example below, the placeholder that has been selected is Deceased full name - this has then been inserted into the template as
Editing, Saving and Publishing the Template
- The template can be edited directly - there is a full range of editing tools available
- Give your template a name so that you are clearly able to identify what the template is used for eg. "Writing to Institutions Template"
- When you are ready to Publish template move the dial to the right - this will make the template available to all
- Click Save template after editing
- Once saved you will be returned to the Template Library
Understanding the Template Library
You can see a list of all the templates created in the firm on the Template Library page:
- The name of the template
- The status of the template - Published or Draft
- When the template was last updated and who it was edited by
To Delete templates:
- Locate the template you wish to delete and click the 3 dots:
- Select Delete as required
‼️Deleting a template will delete it for everyone in the firm
To View and edit Templates:
- Locate the template you want to edit and click View
- From this screen you can:
- Rename the template
- Publish or Unpublish it (return it to a draft)
- Download as word document
- Edit as required and then click Save when finished
Using the Templates
Once templates have been added and published as required, everyone in the team will be able to select them with the Correspondence area
